每一份八字解读都从同一个问题开始:你的日主是什么?(也叫日干——日柱的天干)。它是你整张盘里最重要的一个字。把它想成你的核心能量——你本来就是的那个五行,而不是你碰巧拥有的那个。
盘里的其他一切——你的强项、你的盲区、你的用神、你的大运——都是围着这一个字来理解的。
日主住在哪里
你的盘有四柱:年、月、日、时。每柱有干(上)有支(下)。
日柱的天干,就是你的日主。它由你的出生日决定——不是年,不是月。同一年出生的人,日主可以完全不同,而这正是关键:你的核心不是你的时代背景,是你自己。
十天干速查
天干有十个——五种五行,各分阴阳。每个都有不同的性情:

阴阳这一层和五行一样重要:阳木的人像树一样向上向外顶,阴木的人像藤一样弯着适应。同一个五行,两种完全不同的活法。
日主 + 用神 = 你的方向
日主告诉你你是什么。用神告诉你你需要什么——能重新平衡你盘的那个五行。
一份解读的典型形状:你的核心是某五行,但盘失衡了,能把你拉回平衡的是另一个五行。你的人生方向不是"更做你自己",而是"补上你缺的东西"。
一个几乎无水的火日主,可能几十年都在被自己的强度烧干——他需要的是水:休息、流动、接收。不是更多火。
日主不是什么
- 不是你的全部性格。它是你的核心五行,盘是环绕它的整个生态。
- 不是星座。天干有十个,不是十二个,说的是五行能量,不是星体位置。
- 不是锁死你的标签。它描述你的出厂性情,怎么用它,仍然是你的事。

Opening
Every BaZi reading starts with one question: what is your Day Master? (日主, or 日干 — the Day Stem). It's the single most important character in your chart. Think of it as your core energy — the element you are, not the element you happen to have.
Everything else in the chart — your strengths, your blind spots, your Use God, your luck cycles — is understood in relation to this one character.
Where Your Day Master Lives
Your chart has four pillars: year, month, day, hour. Each pillar has a stem (top) and a branch (bottom).
The stem of the Day Pillar is your Day Master. It's determined by your birth day — not year, not month. Two people born in the same year can have completely different Day Masters, and that's the whole point: your core isn't your generational backdrop. It's you.
The Ten Day Masters
There are ten stems — five elements, each in a yin and yang form. Each has a distinct temperament:

The yang/yin layer matters as much as the element: a Yang Wood person pushes up and outward like a tree; a Yin Wood person bends and adapts like a vine. Same element, opposite strategy.
Day Master + Use God = Your Direction
Your Day Master tells you what you are. Your Use God (用神) tells you what you need — the one element that rebalances your chart.
The classic shape of a reading: your core energy is X, but your chart is out of balance, and the element that restores you is Y. Your life direction isn't "be more of what you already are." It's "bring in what you're missing."
A Fire Day Master in a chart with almost no Water may spend decades getting burned out by intensity — what they need is Water: rest, flow, receptivity. Not more fire.
What the Day Master Is Not
- It's not your whole personality. It's your core element; your chart is the whole ecosystem around it.
- It's not a zodiac sign. There are ten, not twelve, and they're about elemental energy, not star positions.
- It's not a label that locks you. It describes your starting temperament — what you do with it is still yours.
